The Firm provides employment law advice that is practical and comes with an acute understanding of current employment practices in Jamaica. We assist employers in reinforcing strong employer-employee relationships. We also help with the on-going training and preparation of managerial and supervisory staff with day to day human resource issues.
Services in this practice area extends to matters relating to contracts of service, consultancies, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements; the provision of advice on employment laws and regulations, staff employment policies and manuals, rights and obligations of employers and employees, disciplinary procedures and practices, collective bargaining, management of disputes through conciliation at the Labour Ministry and arbitration at the Industrial Disputes Tribunal; Employment-related litigation including advice on termination of employment and other disciplinary matters. We also advise clients at all stages of workforce restructuring as well as employment related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures or other transfer of businesses.
